What is Baltic amber and how can it help your child?

Baltic amber is a traditional baby teething remedy used for centuries in Europe. Baltic Amber teething necklaces and bracelets are the ideal solution when you choose to care for your baby in a natural way. How does it work? 

Baltic amber has the highest concentration of succinic acid, this acid is naturally found in plants and animals, and plays a large role in the Krebs cycle (aka the citric acid cycle) in the body *- the system that processes oxygen for everything that requires it, in extremely simplified terms. This acid in solid form is a colorless crystalline powder or solid, and is what is present in our teething necklaces and bracelets. Baltic amber rubbing against the skin releases succinic acid, which is absorbed into the body (so the necklace is meant to be worn under clothes, not over for looks), and this acid helps the baby deal with teething pain or other aches, and it even works for adults.

Who can wear it?

Necklaces and bracelets are suitable from about **4 months of age. The miseries of teething can often continue for 2 years or more, and we can tell you from our experience it's never too late for your child to start wearing these necklaces and bracelets! The best thing is that it looks adorable on boys as well as girls!

Baltic amber teething necklaces and bracelets are handmade by skilled hands, the string is knotted before & after each bead so in the event that the necklace does break (it will break if excessive force is applied) only one bead will come off and the remaining beads will stay intact. The clasp is made from an amber/plastic, with a plastic screw mechanism. The clasp is laboratory tested to release if excessive force is applied to the necklace, which ensures the highest safety. However we recommend taking the necklace off whenever your baby will be without close supervision.
