The farm has exhibited keen interest on aloe farming and has planted over *0,**0 stands more than what is required by the policy of at least 1,**0 stands. Chaka Farms is the biggest aloe farm in the Mountain Conservation Area.

The species planted is exotic (Aloe barbadensis) and does not affect the wild Aloe population in any way. The farm is licensed to harvest and trade on the aloe products by the Kenya Wild Life Service Utilization Office.

Supervision and random check by KWS are performed to ensure that the harvest in tandem with the license conditions. Records of the stock, harvested quantity (litres of sap) are be well documented and shared with the KWS Utilization Office.
