Radiology Equipment Requirements

1 GENERAL X-RAY STATIC EQUIPMENT
- Should have high frequency generators with at least a maximum output of 110 KV and up to 600MA output.
- Should have iontomat and manual selection mode.
- One of the machines should have a table with variable height to carter especially for casualty patients.

2 DOPPLER ULTRASOUND SCANNER
- To have at least 2 transducer probes 3,5 and 5 megahertzs with an option of additional specialised probes.
- Should be colour Doppler

3 PORTABLE ULTRASOUND SCANNER
- To cover for mobile ultrasonography in the wards and theatres.

4 SCREENING UNIT
- The best option is one that would enable digital fluoroscopy so as to eliminate the use of film cassettes.
- Should have an over couch tube as xxxxx

5 IMAGE PROCESSING UNITS
- For the general x-rays or even CT Scanning, a conventional 60secs film processor would be sufficient.
- A 90sec tabletop processor is required as a backup processor.
- Should we acquire digital fluoroscopy equipment, the use of dry processing technology should be employed. CT, MRI and Digital fluoroscopy should be coupled together so as to process the images using one specialised unit.

6 MOBILE X-RAY EQUIPMENT
- Should have a high output so as to do examinations such as lumbar spines in the wards.
