Technical Specifications for Imported Sheep:
1. Breed: Meat breed.
2. Category: Male sheep, non-castrated.
3. Animal Condition: Must be free from any visible defects such as:
• Sheep visibly blind or having lost the use of one eye,
• Sheep visibly sick,
• Sheep with lameness,
• Sheep with broken limbs or missing any organ.
4. Age: 6 months and older.
5. Weight: Sheep category between 40 kg â€" 45 kg.
6. Health Documents: Imported sheep must be accompanied by a health certificate from the country of origin and any other required documents in accordance with Algerian veterinary regulations.
• Sheep must originate exclusively from countries approved by the health authority for export to Algeria.
7. Weighing: Weighing will be conducted in kilograms at the port of embarkation.
8. Shipping Documents: The livestock must be accompanied at the port of embarkation by a document folder containing the following:
• Commercial invoice with weight recorded at the port of embarkation.
• List and ear tag numbers of the exported sheep.
• Ship identification.
• Departure and arrival dates of the ship.
• Letter of credit reference.
• Ports of embarkation and disembarkation.
• Bill of lading.
• Certificate of origin.
• Health documents.
