1.Scope:
To purchase dry granular for free flowing crystalline Ferrous Sulfate for use in the treatment of potable water supplies.2. Application:Ferrous Sulfate to be used in treatment of potable water together with other chemicals (PAC, Polymer, KMno4, Disinfectants) as an effective primary coagulant.
3.Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
1.Appearance: free flowing fine granular or free flowing crystalline.
2.Particle size distribution, sieve analysis passing through Sieve no. 10 100% 2 mm
Sieve no. 40 not more than 15% 0.425 mm
3.Free form lumps.
4.Solubility: easily soluble in water.Chemical Requirements:1. Formula: FeSO4.7H2O 2. F2(II) : 19.0% Min3. Water Insoluble: < 3% By wt.4. Mg : 0.7 % by wt.5. Ca: 0.3% by wt6. Free Acids: (H2SO4): < 2 % by wt.Trace Element: Cd:< 0.1 mg/KgNi:<50 mg/KgCr: <10 mg/KgPb: <5 mg/KgC: <1mg/KgZn: <200mg/KgHg:<0.1 mg/Kg As: 0.2 mg/Kg4. Impurities:Ferrous Sulfate should not contain substances in quantities capable of producing deleterious or injurious effects on the health of those consuming water that has been properly treated with Ferrous Sulfate.5.Certification:
1.Ferrous sulphat should be certified for suitability of drinking water treatment, by an international or local agency authorized to accredit certification for safty use in drinking water treatment .
2.Certificate of analysis from SGS for each shipment should be delivered.6. Packing & ShippingFerrous Sulfate shall be shipped in (25-50) Kgs moisture proof multi wallpaper or polypropylene bags, packed on wooden pallets.
7.Marking:
Each shipment packaged of Ferrous Sulfate should be marked with:- Name of products/ brand name or grade (if any).-Batch No.- Manufacturer name.- Net weight.Note: Safety Data Sheet should be supplied with each shipment.8. Sampling:A sample of two kilogram (2 Kg) should be supplied by manufacture vendor for tender evaluation purposes.
